What happened
While sitting with a load in the clamping mechanism as the coworker tended to the set a hydraulic hose blew apart from the crimped fitting at the end of the hose in the mast section of the forklift. As the hose came apart it sprayed hot hydraulic oil into the operator area of the forklift spraying the employees face and side of the head neck and upper torso resulting in burn to the skin of the area contacted by the hot fluid.
