Before the incident
Trying to ensure a new guard that he had made fit properly.
What happened
Employee was using an angle grinder fitted with a cut-off wheel to cut a 2inch piece from the new guard. Employee did not clamp it down he was holding it with left hand and using his right hand to operate the angle grinder.
Injury or illness
Angle grinder jumped when it contacted the piece of angle iron used on the guard and hit his left forearm resulting in an approximate 2 inch gash. Employee received 6 stitiches.
