What happened
The employee was utilizing safety glasses and a face shield during grinding operations. It is believed that the employee had small shavings of metal on the brim of his face shield visor and they fell into his eye. Rubbing his eye caused the particles to settle and eventually embed in the lower half of his cornea in the right eye.
