Fan Case Liner Installation
What happened
on [REDACTED] an operator in the fan case area was installing a liner in a fan case. The process requires the operator to drill holes into the liner and insert rivets to hold the liner. After drilling a hole into the liner and preparing to insert a rivet the operator dropped the rivet and then bumped into the drill which caused the drill to fall to the floor. The operator then reached for the drill and was struck by the drill bit in the drill causing a puncture to the palm of his right hand. The operator received onsite first aid and monitored the injury for several days before going to the clinic and receiving prescription medication.
