Before the incident
([REDACTED]) was cutting off a piece of end stock and used a metal tool to catch the end piece. Unfortunately the end piece which had a small diameter folded rather than cutting cleanly. This caused it to catch on the metal tool pulling it from my hand and causing it to swing around

While working on the lathe I ([REDACTED]) was cutting off a piece of end stock and used a metal tool to catch the end piece. Unfortunately the end piece which had a small diameter folded rather than cutting cleanly. This caused it to catch on the metal tool pulling it from my hand and causing it to swing around. drove myself to the hospital received five double stitches and returned to work.
