Before the incident
Employee was attempting to take a bolt off of carding machine 3 by using a crescent wrench in order to change the oil on the motor. The bolt to be removed was on the rear dodge drive of card #3. While putting pressue on the wrench the wrench slipped off the bolt causing the employee 's right hand to strike a bracket on the machine. The employee noted his right thumb new his knucklie is swollen and that he can 't bend his right thumb.
