Holding on to a cylinder shaft with the left hand

A 3rd shift Line 3 mill operator was folding rubber masterbatches on a pallet at the batchoff area. While holding onto the pneumatic cylinder with his left hand the associate leaned over to switch the overhead belt conveyor from forward to reverse mode but accidentally hit the wrong button. As a result the conveyor end lowered activating the pneumatic air cylinder and pinching the associate 's left pinky between the shaft and seal.
