Employee was a first shift line 1 mill operator assisting a trainee while making a roll of rubber on the drop mill.

As the employee placed their left hand on the rubber roll to help stabilize it his fingertip hit the uneven rubber roll bending his left middle finger. The associate took off their glove and noticed their finger wasn 't straight. The associate reported it right away and was taken to University Hospital Health Center.

The associate was diagnosed with a torn tendon in their middle finger.
