Before the incident
Employee was attempting to align the two ends of a plate that he had just rolled in order to prep the rolled plate for the seam weld. He was using a metal bar tack welded onto one of the plate ends for leverage.
What happened
When the employee applied downward pressure to the bar the tack weld broke causing his arm to jerk downward after which he felt pain and discomfort in the shoulder.
