Talking with Coater Maintenance and Engineering by storage tanks outside of rack repair area - Vendor was delivering product conducting servicing
What happened
On [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] an employee was stung by an insect that caused the employee to have a severe allergic reaction. Initially the employee noticed being stung by some insect at [REDACTED] outside of the facility s rack repair area. The employee did not have any initial symptoms other than itchiness redness behind his right ear where the sting occurred. At the time the employee was unaware that they were allergic to the insect that stung them. At [REDACTED] the employee began experiencing symptoms of an allergic reaction. The employee was breaking out in hives on his arms face and chest with redness and had trouble breathing. [REDACTED] was called once symptoms worsened. The employee was treated on site by [REDACTED] first responders and brought to [REDACTED] ER for further evaluation. It was determined that a bee had stung the employee. Employee was discharged at [REDACTED] the same day from the ER.
