What happened
Nurse checked pt 's blood sugar and then drew up insulin into syringe to give two units to the pt. Nurse cleaned pt 's arm with alcohol swab told the patient they will start a countdown from 3 and then they will feel a stick in the back of their arm. The pt stated they were ready so the nurse began the countdown then stuck the needle into the pts arm. The pt jerked their arm away from the nurse and then immediately jerked their arm back toward the nurse which pushed the needle into the nurse 's finger. The nurse 's finger began to bleed.
