What happened
My patient had fallen in the bathroom. I was assisting the patient with other nurses to lower to the floor. Patient declined and we needed to call a code blue. The patient 's recliner from the room was in the doorway of the bathroom which was in my way to get to the code button. I stepped up on the recliner seat with my right leg and jumped over the recliner and landed on my left leg and had pain in my knee. I limped up to the patient 's bed to pull the code button. I was assisted out by my coworkers to a chair. I am unable to bear weight on my left leg without severe pain. There is swelling present in the knee.
