Before the incident
Placing work bag on hook to scrub in prior to shift
What happened
Upon arriving to the unit and preparing to scrub in I attempted to put my work backpack on a hook by the scrub in sink. My work bag fell from the hook and my finger was in the top strap of my bag. When the bag fell it bent my finger to the side and caused immediate pain. Upon starting the shift I noticed my finger was starting to bruise and swell so I wrapped it with a dressing to splint it. As the day continued my finger bruising increased. Mild to moderate pain at times with inability to use that finger.
