Descending ladder.

While climbing down the ladder to retrieve a fan belt and other needed equipment from the truck employee miss stepped or slipped causing him to begin to fall down the attic access ladder. While suddenly falling downward he began to try and grab something to steady himself and stop the fall. Employee was able to grab the attic door to break his fall but the attic door slammed down on his hand in the process.
