Before the incident
The employee was attempting to separate two magnets in Room 5 that had already made contact and were stuck together. He was using a pry bar to try to separate the magnets as part of his maintenance duties.
What happened
While the employee was trying to separate the magnets with a pry bar a second employee reached in to assist without being asked. The injured employee attempted to stop the second employee from reaching in and when he did the magnets suddenly snapped back together. His right middle finger became caught and crushed between the magnets causing the injury.
