Using a hoist to perform a MTC task

The injured associate was rebuilding an Extruder [REDACTED] in the maintenance shop. The Extruder [REDACTED] was placed on a hoist and lifted approximately 8 inches off the ground in preparation for entry in to the press. The fixture that is placed on top of the hopper to assist in pushing out the liner was on the floor. As the associate bent down to pick up the fixture with both hands the liner unexpectedly released from the housing and struck his right pinky finger causing a fracture
