Before the incident
Moving equipment on a wooden pallet with another employee.
What happened
A wooden slat from the pallet broke off exposing a staple. The IW did not see the staple and his hand came into contact with the staple as he was moving the slat and received a lacreration on his finger.
Injury or illness
Lacerated left index finger. IW went to the SMG-Express Care and the wound was bandaged. Doctor prescribed antibiotics. IW returned to work the same day without restrictions.
