Before the incident
Doing computer work at his workbench.
What happened
[REDACTED] was working on his computer at the work bench and as his hand brushed past the fiberboard top of the work bench a piece of it somehow came loose and lodged itself under his nail. Contacted Medcore (Ref# 27619040) and went to the doctor to have it removed to prevent infection. Doctor stated that with the way it went into his nail bed he would not have been able to remove it himself. Restricted to light duty for one day specifically stating to use the impacted hand as tolerated. We will follow up by using some flexible protective plastic covering one of our technicians will be bringing in and using adhesive to attach it to the work bench in his area to prevent this from happening again. (Will create a hazard report and upload the image once it 's done).
