Assisting with a lift of a resident
What happened
Employee was transferring resident in [REDACTED] as care planned with a [REDACTED] and assist of 2. Another employee witnessed incident. [REDACTED] was holding the resident while the other employee was operating the lift. Grip strips were by the bed and the [REDACTED] slid over the grip strips and tipped slightly. It appeared to be caught by the grip slips. The [REDACTED] did not end up tipping but wheels did lift off the ground slightly. [REDACTED] caught herself w her legs and was able to utilize her legs and prevent the lift from tipping. During this process she strained her left front knee. Pain is inside of knee. [REDACTED] did not hit her but her weight shifted to provide muscle to push the lift in the other direction to prevent from tipping and that caused the strain. Resident was safe.
