Employee was retrieving a 4x4 wood dunnage from storage pile

While picking up dunnage the employee stood the dunnage upright to place it on his shoulder. He placed the dunnage on a icy spot on the ground and the dunnage started to fall. The employee tried to regain balance of the dunnage by stepping backwards. While stepping backwards the employee stepped onto the sand pile next to the storage location. The employee slipped and fell onto the ground. The dunnage then fell onto the employees right ankle.
