Before the incident
TM was assisting another TM with clean out debris from the bottom of tank.
What happened
TM was assisting another TM with clean out debris from the bottom of tank. The process required a valve plunger to be removed and reinstalled. During the re-installation the plunger has to be manually retracted via the HMI screen. The TM was hold the plunger while the other went to the HMI screen. During the manual move the TM got her left index finger caught between the plunger and the housing causing the tip of her fingertip to be amputated just above the bone. TM was transported to local ER via EMS and then transferred to specialty hospital for further treatment.
