Before the incident
I was attempting to gain access on a patient due to order placed by MD. Child had cerebral palsy so my coworkers were present to help hold the client.
What happened
the child had Cerebral palsy and had constant jerking but when I stuck and was attempting to remove the needle she started to jerk more than what my coworkers could hold and I accidentally stuck my finger.

While sticking to get IV access i got flashback and when I went to remove the needle from the catheter the patient began to jerk and I stuck my first finger of the my left hand. once the iv was dressed appropriately i washed my hands.
