Before the incident
I was cleaning up the baby bed after giving the baby vitamin k.
What happened
I dropped the needle syringe as I was picking up the trash from the injection. It fell in between the baby bed and bottom of the bed. I was picking up the bottom plate of the bed to retrieve and I was stuck by the needle syringe. Employee states that this occured about 20 minutes after administering the injection to the baby. Employee states that the safety mechanism was activated so she is unsure how she got stuck. She states that she felt something sharp stick her so it had to be the needle.
