What happened
Employee was taking a box of peanuts off of a pallet to dump into ingredient feeder. The pallet of peanuts was on a lift and raised approximately 10 inches off the floor. At the same time that the employee was retrieving the boxes of peanuts another employee lowered the pallet to the floor without realizing that the co-worker 's foot was under the pallet. This resulted in the employee 's right foot being crushed by the pallet which weighed approximately 1200 #. Employee sustained right ankle and foot contusion and given restrictions of seated work only for 1 week.
