Primary Nurse [REDACTED] S. RN went to start a new IV on patient. IV did not have flash and RN removed entire device and set aside to deal with bleeding at site. RN realized that needle was still engaged and went to disengage it and ended up sticking rt hand 5th digit tip disengaging needle at this time. RN disposed of disengaged needle and informed author. author called house supervisor. bloodwork was collected and sent down. [REDACTED] RN 3 east [REDACTED] was notified at 0500.Patient is unaware that RN had an accidental stick.
