Before the incident
Employee was replacing a standard sanding disc on their 5” angle grinder.
What happened
As they were walking over to the weldment to start grinding with the angle grinder at their side (arm fully extended hanging at their side) the employee accidentally activated the trigger (paddle style) on the grinder causing the grinder to kick and rotate into their leg.
Injury or illness
The sanding disc cut through the employee 's jeans and caused a 3-4 laceration in the leg that required 8 stitches to treat.
