Administering insulin to the patient

As I was attempted to activate the safety on the needle the patient jumped and asked me a question that startled me.

Pain and limited mobility in left arm following flu vaccination. Pain radiates from injection site (upper left arm shoulder area) down to middle finger consistent with possible nerve involvement.
