Before the incident
Controlling the hoist to lower a charge can from VMM2 bulk loader
What happened
While controlling the hoist to lower a charge can from VMM2 bulk loader the employee pushed back on a second charge can to prevent contact with the first charge can. During the lowering process the first charge can caught the flap of the second charge can resulting in a finger being forced between the two charge cans. The employee initially attempted to continue working but was unable to do so after a short period. Supervision and WorkCare were notified. After consultation with WorkCare it was determined that an X-ray was necessary to assess the extent of the injury. AMR was contacted for further evaluation.
