What happened
employee was searching a patient bag upon finding a needled syringe around 22 gauge I uncapped it to identify whether it was a used waste product or a future use syringe. I found blood on it and before putting it to the side of the search I decided to recap it. while recapping it the needle bent and punched through the side. with help from nursing staff we searched for but could not find any puncture hole in the glove or blood on the skin
