Badging into work

A PeaceHealth patient ([REDACTED]) was falling out of his electric wheelchair in the men 's restroom. His aide was calling for help from inside unable to move him on his own. I entered the restroom to assist them along with an LPN from Peds ([REDACTED]). Due to his status as a paraplegic the patient was unable to assist us with bearing any of his own weight. During the first lift and pivot I felt a sharp pain in my upper back between my shoulder blades. We quickly determined we would need additional assistance with moving the patient back into his wheelchair and approached security who stated he could not assist with patient handling but could stand by to be of any assistance if we needed to send for help. One of the Peds providers ([REDACTED]) came and assisted us with lifting the patient back into his wheelchair as a team of four. No harm to the patient. Per the aide the patient is usually only moved with the assist of a Hoyer lift (or equivalent).
