Working on installing new lock griding tail piece.

Employee was changing out a lock when he realized the locking components were different and needed to be modified. Knowing the correct sized piece was not in inventory employee attempted to modify the piece so it would fit. Attempting to file down the piece in order to shorten wasn 't working as he did not have an aggressive enough metal file. Being next to the machine shop employee elected to utilize the shops grinding wheel to file down the metal pin. Employee had clamped the tail piece with a pair of needle nose channel locks. While holding the piece of metal with the channel locks against the wheel he began grinding away the excess metal. While almost complete the grinding wheel suddenly grabbed causing the piece of metal he was holding to spin striking employees finger.
