What happened
The injured was in the process of cleaning the center hub of the polisher(approx weight 80 lbs). This involved transporting the hub using a forklift from the Maintenance shop to the parts washing area. The hub was placed over the grating in the parts washing area and cleaned. In the process of returning the hub to the pallet the injured used the nylon lifting sling attached to the hub to drag it onto a pallet. The injured felt discomfort at the base of their right thumb after this task.
