What happened
dirty needle stick after unsuccessful attempt. immediately after pulling needle out of pts skin pt began to bleed this RN rushed to control bleeding without retraction needle in IV catheter and placed catheter on bed. after bleeding was controlled this RN grabbed trash off bed in which IV needle was under the trash and needle stick occurred
