What happened
Lab called out for my assistance as I was walking past [REDACTED] to help her obtain blood from a confused patient (not my patient). We were getting blood from him when the needle came out. I was assisting her clean up and barely felt a pinprick on my right ring finger through my glove. I didn 't think it penetrated at first but when I washed the area there was a small amount of blood noted. I cleaned the wound with soap and water hand sanitizer and CHG. Charge RN ([REDACTED]) and Overhouse Supervisor notified.
