Before the incident
Injured Person (IP) and another employee were moving a rotary sifter unit that was no longer in service to the maintenance shop.
What happened
Injured Person (IP) was pushing on the main body of the sifter (top section) when the sifter tipped over falling up the ramp. When the sifter tipped over the main body (top section) of the sifter fell up the ramp with the legs of the frame kicked out facing down the ramp. As the unit tipped IP ’s momentum caused him to fall over with the unit with his body coming to rest on top of the unit and the cross bar of the frame striking and coming to rest on the top of IP 's left foot.
