What happened
PA [REDACTED] was attempting to remove an insulin needle that was stuck in the upper right arm of patient 1497247. [REDACTED] was using a 27-gauge needle to administer lidocaine to the affected area on the patient. Patient moved during injection and [REDACTED] stuck the pad of left thumb with the needle. [REDACTED] washed the injured area twice with warm water and soap rinsed for two minutes under running water and saw employee health nurse [REDACTED] who happened to be working in our Elmore Urgent
