What happened
I was going to listen to my patient 's lungs with a stethoscope. When I put the stethoscope in my ears the left side had intense pain. I took the stethoscope off and noticed that one of the white pieces of the disposable stethoscopes (used to protect your ear) was not on the left side. Therefore the metal piece was what went directly into my ear. I left the room and noticed it was bleeding causing pain. My hearing also sounded muffled out of the left ear.
