Cleaning off the bedside table in order to teach on diabetes skills

A used lancet was in the pile of unused lancet. When cleaning up the unused lancets RN received a poke from the one used uncovered lancet. FOC states that the glucose meter is borrowed from a friend. He is unsure whether the lancet was used on the patient or his friend (from whom he borrowed the meter).
