Before the incident

2 employees came to me and reported a needle stick. It 's reported that she accidentally stuck herself with a lovenox needle after administering the medicine to the patient. She showed me her left pointer finger with a small amount of blood present from the stick. I instructed her to wash the area with soap and water immediately and then sent her to the ER and called employee health and informed her of the instance. All orders placed for the patient and employee has been instructed to go to Employee Health after the ER visit.
