Before the incident
I was helping the patient along with PT get out of the bed to the bedside commode. That is when I walked into a section of the floor that had a very slick substance. I slipped hard but I caught myself and did not fall. I did however pull my back. It is very painful all down the left side. PT confirmed there was a slick substance but her back was turned so she did not see me slip. PT was at bedside with me and did see me slip. After getting the patient settled we cleaned the area of the floor with purple wipes and a towel. Upon further investigation we noticed a bottle of baby oil that had been brought in by family. Family had given the patient a bath earlier on the bedside commode and it appears they dripped a little baby oil on the floor after applying the oily substance onto their family member.
