Float RN was pulled to ED to task and discharge for her 9 15 25 7p shift. RN entered into a patient 's room to discharge him while assisting the patient with ambulation from the bed to the wheelchair the patient 's legs gave out causing her to lift carry the patient to the wheelchair that was placed right beside the bed.

What happened

Float RN was pulled to ED to task and discharge for her 9 [REDACTED] 25 7p shift. RN entered into a patient 's room to discharge him while assisting the patient with ambulation from the bed to the wheelchair the patient 's legs gave out causing her to catch him and lift carry the patient to the wheelchair that was placed right beside the bed. Patient was asked if he could walk prior to [REDACTED] getting him up and he stated he could to the wheelchair. RN used proper body mechanics while holding the patient with both arms. When the patient 's legs gave out this jerked RN down with him preventing him from hitting the floor.
