Before the incident
Hennepin Healthcare Medical Student in [REDACTED] Hospital OR Room1 on 10 [REDACTED] 25 at [REDACTED] was assisting resident on bunionectomy case. As the resident was injecting Marcaine and Epinephrine local anesthetic to patient the student was holding the patients lower leg. The patient twitched and jerked foot causing the needle to fall out and poke student in back of RT hand below thumb through gloves causing it to bleed.
