Employee was attempting to clean sawdust up from around the dust collection shoot of a miter saw The vacuum only engaged while the saw was running so the employee had engaged the saw so that the vacuum would suck up the dust While he activated the saw with his right hand he was brushing the dust into the collector with his left hand His left thumb came into contact with the spinning saw blade pulling his thumb into the blade causing a laceration Employee received 14 stitches to close the wound at the local ER on 1204Employee underwent surgery to repair tendons and place a pin in the injured finger on [REDACTED]
