What happened

The team member arrived early as the department was shortstaffed due to a member being on vacation The team member went to the cutting table area to support another maintenance technician The other employee followed protocol and removed two strips of magnets from the table for replacement When this was completed the injured employee and his coworker took the magnets to the maintenance shop for disposal After arriving at the shop the injured employees coworker went to another work station Instead of disposing of the magnet the injured team member decided to clean the magnet off to take it home with him which is against our policy In doing so he flipped the magnet over onto its side to clean the back of it When the magnet was in this position it attracted the metal worktable and quickly clamped down on it The team member reacted by trying to pull his hand out before it was caught The team member believed he saved himself as he felt no initial pain When he glanced at his finger he noted t
