she was going to activate the safety cap on a butterfly needle.

EE reports the patient moved causing her to puncture her left index finger on the palm side with the used butterfly needle causing pain and a puncture wound. EE denies any other injuries or active bleeding. EE indicates she washed wound with soap and hot water and went to Occupational Health to be evaluated treated and get blood drawn prior to call.
