When looking for some maintenance supplies in the maintenance office employee moved some floor tiles and saw a plastic bag under a shelf. When he moved the bag he got poked with something. Upon further inspection the bag contained improperly disposed syringes resulting in a needle stick to his left hand finger. Neither employee nor his supervisor were aware of this bag being in the office containing sharps. Neither one of them put the bag there and they both know the proper protocol of disposing of sharps. Both have since been re-educated on proper sharps disposal and the competency is attached.
