The associate was getting ready to cut open a box of brake pads before the incident occurred.

Around [REDACTED] the associate was picking brake pads for her order. She set the unopened box sideways to cut the box. She was using the safety knife with her right hand while supporting the box with her left hand. When she cut downward toward her left hand and body the blade went into her left hand thumb when cutting at the end of the box.

EE states that as she was supporting a box with her left hand she opened the box with a box cutter in a downward motion with her other hand causing the blade to go into her left hand thumb resulting in a laceration.
