What happened
On [REDACTED] we experienced a severe turbulence event coming back to [REDACTED] from [REDACTED]. Luckily it was forecasted and the pilots advised us to stay in our jumpseats until it passed. I was the D FA and during the worst of the turbulence I leaned to my left to look down the aisle to check that all passengers were seated and bins remained secure. While doing so there was a violent jerk of the aircraft and I felt a pull and almost burning sensation in the right side of my neck. At that time I didn’t feel much after the sensation had passed. However during the following hours I felt a progressive soreness in my neck. The [REDACTED] ([REDACTED]) I woke up with severe stiffness and pain in the right side of my neck and shoulder that made getting up from seated turning my head or lifting anything painful.
