Before the incident

Maintenance Team Member was attempting to insert a safety bar under the pallet hoist to change out the apron chain on Palletizer 2 Upon doing so the team member noticed the weight of the bar was too much and attempted to pull it back During this process the bar lifted and smashed his left thumb between the safety bar and underside of the apron First aid was administered due to a swollen knuckle and laceration Team member did not want medical treatment after being offered Team Member reported to work the next day and requested to be seen at medical facility and was transported by the EHS Manager
