Lifting tool bag

While working on the palletizer mezzanine doing maintenance a PMR employee asked a Palletizer employee to hand him a tool bag (approx. 40 lbs) that was on the floor. The employee picked it up with his left arm. When lifting it over the railing guard the shoulder strap got caught between his stomach and the railing guard. Not realizing the strap was caught the employee attempted to lift the tool bag unsuccessfully. The employee then attempted again with more force causing them to strain their shoulder. Employee left work to be seen in the Emergency Room. It was stated by the ER physician to have nonweightbearing to the left arm for the [REDACTED]. Employee had an x-ray with negative results. Employee is to follow up with Occupational Medicine if the pain continues to be persistent. Employee returned to work [REDACTED].
